A High Performance Approach

Concise 8 was developed in 2013 as a third generation Class 40. Designed at the cutting edge of technology utilising techniques developed during America’s cup, Volvo Ocean Race and IMOCA 60 campaigns, she is a sleek, high-speed, state of the art machine.

  • Dimensions – 12.19m long, 4.5m wide, 3m deep and 19m tall

  • Weight – 4500kg all up, with over 2000kg in the keel

  • Sail Area – With upwind sail area limited to 115m2, Concise 8 sports a massive 250m2 downwind

Whilst newer boats have been launched since the inception of Concise 8, few have demonstrated the speed and capability of her radical design, so she still remains a strong favourite in all races she enters.

Class 40

Circuit

An international circuit of crewed, solo and double handed offshore racing.

Circuit

As a baby brother to the IMOCA 60 class which competes in the Vendee Globe, the Class 40 follows a similar circuit of long distance shorthanded offshore races.  The pinnacle events are the transatlantic races, both the double handed ‘Transat Jacques Vabre’ and the famous solo ‘Route du Rhum’.

Class 40

The largest fleet of offshore racing boats. Ever.

Class 40

In 2004 former Vendee Globe and Whitbread competitor, Patrice Carpentier, brought together designers, builders and sailors to formulate a new accessible class of shorthanded offshore racing boats. The class’s aim was to bridge the substantial size and fiscal gap between the 32ft Beneteau Figaro 2’s and IMOCA 60s.

Concise 8

Concise 8 is a prototype Class 40, with radical lines and high pedigree.

Concise 8

With both prototype and series designs allowed, the Class 40 fleet is an eclectic mix of amateur sailors and fully funded professional campaigns.  Concise 8 is a no expense spared prototype design, built for speed, built to win.
